2026-10-20 update
- The site and the app now come in Russian (Русский): menus, search, statistics, resources and help. Pick it from the 🌐 menu.
- Interlinear: a Russian line under each word, Oleksii Vynokurov's Russian interlinear (www.bible.in.ua), used with his permission. The grammar of each word can be read in Russian too.
2026-10-19 update
- Interlinear: a third view, Side by side (LXX ↔ LC) — the Greek and the Hebrew of each Old Testament verse next to each other, Brenton underneath. Point at a word and its Strong's number lights up across the page.
- New version RST: the 1876 Russian Synodal Bible (public domain), in the reader, the interlinear's Versions menu and search.
- 1 Timothy 3:16 in the CUV: the note on the Greek reading (ὅς / θεός) is now a translator's note, not part of the verse.
- Buttons, headings and banners in the site's own navy and gold; easier to read in dark mode and on a phone.
2026-10-18 update
- Interlinear: a new Versions menu lets you pick translations (CUV, BSB, KJV, LEB and more) that appear as a line under each verse, with tappable Strong's numbers. It replaces the Chinese line under every word.
- Fixed the missing space around supplied words in the LEB in the app.
- Downloads (PDFs, ebooks, manuals) now come from our resource server.
2026-10-16 update
- Old Testament interlinear: a button switches between the Hebrew (LC) and the Greek (LXX), word by word with its Strong's number and grammar.
- New version LXXe (Brenton): Brenton's English Septuagint (1851), beside the Greek LXX on every Old Testament chapter, verse for verse.
2026-10-15 — complete overhaul
A full refresh of the Bible reader, the versions, the search and the app since the last update in March. In short:
Versions: 22 in all
- New: WEB (Yahweh) and JPS 1917 (YHWH) (the Jewish Publication Society's 1917 Old Testament, God's name written YHWH, in our Old Testament order and numbering), Lü Zhenzhong (simplified and traditional), LEB, Leung Ka-Kung (New Testament), Chinese NET, NET, One God Translation and the SBLGNT Greek New Testament beside Westcott-Hort.
- The Chinese Union Version (Yahweh edition) has had a long run of corrections, many of them from Pastor Raymond Suen's review: wording, Strong's numbers, translators' notes. Jude 1:4 now carries its 主宰^ mark.
- Pick the versions to read from the Versions menu: choose several, put them in order, and press OK once.
Marks and sections
- 主^: where the Chinese edition reads 主[雅伟] (the Lord who is Yahweh) it shows 主^, the third mark beside 主* and 主#. Click it for the note. Searching "主^" finds them.
- Jewish Sections (Old Testament): the scribes' own paragraph marks in the Leningrad Codex, {פ} petuchah and {ס} setumah, 3,162 of them, in a bright orange-red.
- Ms Sections (New Testament): the scribe's paragraphing in Codex Sinaiticus: ekthesis {←}, paragraphos {―}, coronis {❦}. Both are switched on from the buttons on each chapter and are off by default.
Reading and study
- Word by word: every Hebrew or Greek word of a chapter in the original order, with its reading, the Berean gloss, the Strong's number and the grammar; the Chinese of the Union Version and MACULA beneath.
- Side by side: versions stack on a phone and sit in columns on a wide screen, by themselves.
- Search: by book or group of books, by phrase, without regard to case, translators' notes left out on request, and by Strong's number.
- The language switch in the menu bar is now a globe (🌐), so it can be found without reading Chinese.
The app
- The app holds every version, the numbers and the statistics on the device and reads with no connection. Android, and a Windows installer; it updates itself. Colour pens, notes and sharing came with it.
- Free, and it stays free: the Sinaiticus sections are licensed for non-commercial use only.
Videos
- The Shema Series (Mark 12:29-31 and Deuteronomy 6:4, Parts 1 to 4) and Standing at the Cross: A 10-Part Journey are on the home page.
