Living the Shema - Part 2
Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength

"Hear, Israel, Yahweh our God, Yahweh is unique. And you shall love Yahweh your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your might." (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)

Jesus answered, "The most important is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord (κύριος Kyrios) your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'" (Mark 12:29-30)

"The one who does not love (ἀγαπάω agapaō) does not know God, because God is love (ἀγαπάω agapaō) (1 John 4:8)

We love (ἀγαπῶμεν agapōmen) because he first loved (ἠγάπησεν ēgapēsen) us. (1 John 4:19)

From afar Yahweh appeared to me, saying, "I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore I have drawn you with loyal love." (Jeremiah 31:3)

"Praise Yahweh of hosts, for Yahweh is good, for his loyal love is forever." (Jeremiah 33:11)

The Father loves (ἀγαπᾷ agapā) the Son and has given all things into his hand. (John 3:35)

"Just as the Father has loved (ἠγάπησεν ēgapēsen) me, I also have loved (ἠγάπησα ēgapēsa) you. Remain in my love (ἀγάπῃ agapē)." (John 15:9)

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart (καρδία kardia) and with all your soul (ψυχῇ psychē) and with all your mind (διανοίᾳ dianoia) and with all your strength (ἰσχύς ischys).'" (Mark 12:29-30)

Blessed are the pure in heart (καρδία kardia), because they will see God. (Matthew 5:8)

For where your treasure is, there your heart (καρδία kardia) will be also. (Matthew 6:21)

"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life (ψυχῇ psychē), what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?... But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." (Matthew 6:25-33)

"Therefore, preparing your minds (διανοίᾳ dianoia) for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ." (1 Peter 1:13)

"Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 2:4-5)

"I can do (ἰσχύς ischys) all things through him who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

"The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole (ὅλης holēs) body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole (ὅλης holēs) body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!" (Mathew 6:22-23)

And he called his disciples to him and said to them, "Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all (ὅλης holēs) she had to live on." (Mark 12:43-44)

Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you. (1 Samuel 12:24)

Trust Yahweh with all your heart; do not lean toward your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)

Blessed are those who keep his testimonies; they seek him with a whole heart. (Psalm 119:2)

"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were cold or hot! Thus, because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am about to vomit you out of my mouth! ... Be zealous, therefore, and repent." (Revelation 3:15,16,19)
